Community Tasting Note

  • Brian of Mull Likes this wine: 97 points

October 3, 2021 - Coming back to this after a about a year. Opened 3 hours. Color is dark garnet/purple. On the nose: Cassis, leather, something vegetal and graphite. On the palate: Very rich plums, green pepper, cassis, leather and a bit of sour cherry and dark chocolate at the end . Flavors are very concentrated, broad and long. This is a superb wine from a superb vintage. This will be good for decades.

10/3/21, 7:11 PM - Thanks for your tasting notes. I only have 3 bottles of the 09 and I am curious if you think I should wait to open my first one a few more years or if it is ready to be consumed. Most of my BDX I like them with 15-20 years of age and I am not interested in cellaring it for 20+ more years.
