November 4, 2021 - Finally, a good bottle. Of the last ten bottles of this I've opened, half have been corked or flawed. This one certainly wasn't corked, nor was it particularly thrilling. ok balance, not much bottle boquet, subdued and somewhat evolved fruit flavors, no cigar box or tobacco notes. Fine, if no better and maybe less interesting than when young.

11/5/21, 8:44 AM - I've also found the '05 a mixed bag. But I've had enough older vintages of this that it can shine with a bit of age. Mind you, I wouldn't bother going for more than 20 year with this wine.

11/5/21, 9:04 AM - Your experience mirrors mine. Was unusually delicious young but since then I've had about half of my bottles be corked. Even when "on" they've been somewhat banal. Similar results with the '09. Still have a few '05, '09, '10 left, but no longer a buyer. Should have drank them young, but who knew!?
