February 9, 2009 - First experience with a Swiss white wine and the grape varietal Chasselas. Very impressed with the quality and food pairing with seafood. On the nose there was a hint of vanilla, pear and white floral notes, with a hint of minerals. On the palate, the wine was citrus lime, acid was a little sharp and the mid-plate was a little hollow, with a mineral finish that some at teh dinner table felt there was an almost bitter finish. But I though the minerals of chalk and limestone were good characters that help pair the wine with shell fish. A good food wine. Delicious.
