December 7, 2021 - Ooh! This is interesting. A strong whiff of gunpowder on the nose, with perhaps some fruit behind (maybe some exotic sort of orange). Bright fresh acidity on the palate, but not aggressive. A little nutty (in a good way). Citrus, with pith and zest. A bit peachy. Tantalising and it dances on the tongue in a delightful manner. A bit of petrol/slate/flint? The finish is unremarkable, but this is great. Makes me want to eat a chunky bit of turbot or suchlike.
So fresh for a 15 year old wine. I see no reason it won't last another 5. Other than that I'm going to drink it, that is.457 views
