  December 13, 2021 - Friends over for dinner and wine (Strasbourg, France): Coming after a fine Burgundy, this was hard to appreciate. Served blind, participants thought "New World" given the obvious oak char and the high alcohol (15%). I had a better tasting experience when rated among other Bordeaux and Bordeaux AOC wines. In any case, yes, there is a New World feel but the acidity gives this away as a Bordeaux and not an Oz Syrah, as one person guessed. Still, it comes on strong with grip, but the finish is marked by too much charred oak and there is an alcoholic aspect that annoys. For lovers of big wines, this could be your ticket!
