Community Tasting Note

  • PDX-S Likes this wine:

November 25, 2021 - Piercing and expansive aromas of chalk, limestone, with hints of peach, pineapple and lemon.
The wine is a beautiful yellow gold in the glass all the way to the edge and it has this shiny glycerin sheen—making the depths of the wine look incredibly rich and lustrous.
Medium bodied and slick in the mouth, yet pleasantly bone dry. There is enough acid to leave a sharp edge around the dry and lingering finish.
The palate delivers on the promise of the nose - chalk and mineral upfront, backed by tart finger limes and the finish segues back into chalky mineral tones with the faintest echo of citrus.
Clean, crisp, food friendly and interesting enough on its own, without the type of complexity that demands tons of attention, yet the purity of the notes are compelling and engaging enough to merit attention and appreciation.
Great example of the varietal that clearly punches above its weight like so many of Correggia’s wines.
Drink now and over at least another 3 years.

    Cheers, PONTIFAX.
