January 10, 2022 - Good wine but nothing like previous vintages (day 1), showing thin on the palate now. Let's see where this one goes. 91/92 Points. Day 2, still thin and tight, I would wait on this one but there is no guarantee where this wine will go unfortunately.

1/10/22, 4:17 PM - As previously conveyed by Mike, the McGah Vineyard was maintained differently with the 2016 & 2017 vintages and they require more time/patience than previous vintages. However, I thought the 2016 would be showing better by now. I’m hoping the 2019 vintage resembles the 2014 vintage. That was probably my favorite vintage.

1/11/22, 11:15 AM - Thanks for the reminder, this one is on a very slow trajectory unfortunately. I expected a much better showing.

1/11/22, 11:40 AM - I didn’t buy much of the 16 and 17 vintages with that in mind, however, it’s really surprising that the 16 isn’t showing better. Once again, I’m looking forward to see what he did with the 19 vintage.

1/11/22, 11:50 AM - Actually, the 2017 is a pretty wine and value if you can get it at a price, I’d recommend it. If you tried it early upon release, you should crack a bottle sometime soon, you might be surprised.

1/11/22, 12:36 PM - I believe I have two more so I should pop one. I had the last bottle around a year and a half ago and I was a little underwhelmed - both the 2017 Becklyn Napa cab and 2017 Quivet Kenefick Ranch cab we’re quite a bit better when I had them together. Thanks for your thoughts.

7/30/22, 6:06 PM - I'm drinking this now and with a 2hr decant its drinking pretty nicely. Tannins are a little drying and dominant but super aromatic long lasting finish. Glad I have 3 more left, because today gave me hope for this wine
