January 23, 2022 - As per previous notes, this is rocking. This rips into the very depth of the palate, and hijacks the whole sensory experience. It needs fresh fruit to offset its intensity but together it almost produces an hallucagenic happening to the highest order.

1/23/22, 4:04 PM - That sounds like an amazing bottle of Rieussec! I wish the various bottles of this I've had over the years were as enchanting. It has always been just about excellent to me (around 93 pts at the high end), but never hallucinogenic, unfortunately. I'm going to let my remaining ones age a while, and will hope for a psychedelic experience :)

1/23/22, 8:19 PM - I think Rieussec needs a lot of time, much more than the typical sauternes producer, to drink really well. And I'm hoping the 2001 is now entering that amazing window. Thanks for the note; I may have to open a bottle soon.
