  January 30, 2022 - Well....the last time I saw Mayacamas chardonnay grapes was when we visited the winery and Bob Travers was on the crush pad crushing chardonnay grapes (2005)...what a gentleman. This version of Mayacamas was IMHO over oaked and not as fresh as it should have been. But then we've been drinking mostly steel or glass tank Chablis which have a purity of fruit without much oak intervention. Too each his own. I've bought the 2017 / 2018 / 2019 Mayacamas Chardonnay for purely sentimental reason due to our contact with Bob Travers in the past. Totally irrational but such is the way of wine.
