  January 31, 2022 - This vintage was always highly regarded from the Clare Valley region. I was recently gifted a bottle under cork and another under stelvin. I was supposed to compare the two at one sitting but opened the one under cork last night and will check out the other one very soon. This is simply an extraordinary wine. The cork was in perfect condition. A deep golden colour, a nose of tropical fruit with orange and lemon peel carries through to the palate. After twenty years, the acid still supports the excellent fruit. Before we knew it, this ever so drinkable wine was gone. A mighty expression of aged Aussie riesling. Can the other bottle under stelvin match this? I expect so!

  2/26/22, 12:31 AM - Nice note. I opened a screwcap bottle tonight and it looked fantastic. Many similar characters to your bottle. Only middle-aged.
