February 9, 2022 - Red Burgundy GC 01 (London): Served blind in a flight of 4 with stiff competition against all Musigny 01s from Mugnier, Vogue and Laurent. It wasn't quite at the level of the two first mentioned Musignys but nevertheless was nipping on the heals at least. In isolation would have been a great wine, and in a Clos Vougeot 01 flight likely top. The MG was pure and long with no hard edges, lovely mid palate concentration. It just lacked that ethereal touch of the top 2 Musignys. Maybe from recent memory Meo CdV 01 is a tough more successful.
