Community Tasting Note

February 24, 2009 - It only took about 30 minutes for this wine to open up, with cranberry, dusty strawberry and some cinammon, briary underbrush notes (the underside of a rose bush, perhaps?) and iron on the palate. Smooth and cohesive, the tannins seem more dusty than firm, the wine is entering its plateau. I saved some for the next night, where it seemed that the bottom had deepened, yet it did not broaden horizontally or gain in complexity. Just an honest, good but not profound Barbaresco. Josh's TN on this wine (which he drank the day after I did) is very apt. B
