March 24, 2022 - Opened by Jimbo for the evening of chillin'........the wine sat decanting for 90+ min in my glass and had THE best florals, maybe a 96 based on the florals, alone. The wine, while softened a bit was just a tad more raw in the mouth and had slightly less depth than the '16 Trespass franc, tonight. I was torn between a 94 and 95 but this one is such a good buy on release with great qpr. Smooth black/dark red fruit, nicely integrating tannins and acidity. This got smoother the further into my glass I drank and has some room to grow, and improve 1-2 points further, IMO. This bottle very different than my last 13 months ago. It is now moving into that very drinkable window where it gets better the longer it's open. 13 months ago, it did the reverse and would shut down the longer it was open. Thanks for opening, Jimbo! Glad I have a few bottles for sharing down the road, too.
