Community Tasting Note

April 27, 2022 - Two hours in the decanter. There's a bronze tinge to the burgundy red color. Smells very fresh with lifting notes of strawberries and cherries mingled with brushiness, vanilla, and garrigue. Wonderful mouthfeel, owing to the balanced tannins and acidity, mixed with dried red fruits and tarriness. Long-ish finish. As with the last bottle, this wine becomes exceptionally silky and wonderfully integrated at 3 hours (if you can wait that long).

4/28/22, 10:22 AM - I have several of these (went in big on 2010 Brunello). Do you think it might be at peak in a few years? Sounds like now is good with a several hour decant

4/28/22, 10:29 AM - My sense is that these will last for 5-10 years yet, but my last two bottles seem to be at peak after 3 decanter hours. All 3 of my Piancornello are now drunk. I still have 57 other bottles of 2010 BdM to keep me happy.

4/28/22, 10:36 AM - Thanks so much for the help! I have a few cases of mixed '10s, haven't cracked many, but enjoyed the '10 Argiano recently with a good decant.
