Community Tasting Note

  • Richard P Howden Likes this wine: 93 points

May 11, 2022 - Lovely nose of cassis and cherry, though a bit closed. Good richness and length on the red fruited palate, still some tannins but not rough and fine balance. A lovely Napa floor Cabernet with excellent depth and intensity.

5/11/22, 6:35 PM - As to waiting or opening a magnum: honestly it depends on how you like your wine. Youthful or more aged? A little crunchy tannin (great with food) or silkier and more developed? This wine is absolutely ready and lovely right now. If you like secondary character it will just get better and better for at least a decade, and the tannins will continue to soften. A magnum is likely slower to develop. So … if you like a wine with more structure, it could be good now, but decant for an hour. Otherwise give it 5 years. I have a magnum and that’s what I’m going to do.
