June 21, 2022 - Drinking nicely right out of the bottle with balanced fruit, acids and tannins. However after about 40 minutes, bottle being inertted, the fruit disappeared and was dominated by acids and tannins. Not sure whether I believe it would last as long as the drinking window suggests, but do think it has some life left.

6/23/22, 10:06 AM - Obviously we all like what we like, but FWIW, I find that with Brunellos in general and Altesinos specifically, they tend to drink OK for a year or so on release, then lock up tight for several years, before really hitting their stride around their 10th birthday, give or take a few years. Agree the 2037 end date may be a little optimistic, but in terms of life left, I'd guess it's pretty likely it won't even begin to approach peak for another 4+ years. (In fairness, I haven't opened any of my bottles of this yet, so it's just a guess.)

6/23/22, 4:16 PM - Thank you finlero. We have 1 bottle left and will heed your suggestion and wait a while before we open it up. For us it was an experience as we live on the west coast of the US and generally drink, WA, OR and CA wines.
