  July 2, 2022 - I tasted AXR for the first time, and while I agree with prior comments that the tannins are strong and aeration needed, that is a natural element of a good and indeed great wine. This wine needs 5-10 years, but it has gorgeous structure, profound dark fruit, weight, and finish. Even though it is neither at its peak nor really approachable now, that does not diminish this wine's quality or beauty. AXR 2018 is a sleeping beauty; to grade it as mediocre underscores such graders' ignorance.
