blarmston Likes this wine: 95 points
July 21, 2022 - Brought to Rare Society in San Diego to share with a valued client.
Decanted at home for an hour before dinner, decanted again for about 45 minutes before first sip. A bit tight at first, but opened up throughout the evening.
Typically MM freshness, purity of fruit and overall seamless balance. Dark fruited, some plum and blackberry. I trued to identify some vineyard specific notes, detecting at times the Crane and Las Piedras. The Weitz, OR and VHR never really popped their heads out, but I trust that as this wine integrates over the next several years, all sites will display their goodness in time.
At this point in time, I will give a 94.5 but with some slumber I can see this easily pushing up towards the top of the charts.
