August 19, 2022 - Deep, dark garnet in color with slight bricking & clearing at the edges. Nose was initially funky but eventually opened up to full, forward & attractive, ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & kirsch with overtones of garrigue, sous bois & earthy/dusty notes, floral notes, spices, pepper, leather, tobacco, iron, minerals & a hint of cedar undertones in the background. Full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of blueberries, cherries & plums, spices, herbs & minerals. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present & at 18 years of age it is at its peak of development. I doubt any further development would occur from additional aging, so drink up! Cork was clean & intact with the fill at upper neck.
