Flight 1 (1 note)

Red
2004 Carbonaia Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Italy, Tuscany, Montepulciano, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano
80 points
The nose, fruity with marzipan is not unpleasant but doesn't inspire.
Very dry, quite pleasant, simple, doesn't warant keeping.

Flight 2 (1 note)

Red
2005 Cantine DEI Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Italy, Tuscany, Montepulciano, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano
82 points
Quite dumb.
Warm, spicy, good acidity and tannins, some baked fruit, needs time to develop.

Flight 3 (1 note)

Red
2003 Cantine DEI Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Bossona Riserva Italy, Tuscany, Montepulciano, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano
87 points
Rich complex flowery but with pronounced oak.
Fruity attack, great balance, quite moreish, needs loads of time to develop but it's drinking quite well now.

Flight 4 (1 note)

Red
2006 Collemattoni Rosso di Montalcino Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Rosso di Montalcino
92 points
Fascinating bouquet, cherries among the vegetal notes.
Delicious, fruity, drinking well now but will age well.

Flight 5 (1 note)

Red
2003 Collemattoni Brunello di Montalcino Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino
96 points
A lovely mixed bouquet of cherries, vegetables and meaty farmyard.
Fruit, good balance but this one needs a lot more time. Quality.

Flight 6 (1 note)

Red
2006 Fuligni Rosso di Montalcino Ginestreto Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Rosso di Montalcino
92 points
Delicate flowers and baked fruit with some meaty elements.
Fruity, quite a light touch with great balance.

Flight 7 (1 note)

Red
2003 Fuligni Brunello di Montalcino Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino
93 points
Gorgeous fruit, a lot of complex development and a hint of oak.
Oak greets the mouth, then spice and lots of fruit, far too youthful for now, will be great in 10 - 20 years.

Flight 8 (1 note)

Red
2003 Pian Delle Vigne (Antinori) Brunello di Montalcino Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino
95 points
Complex welcoming aromas of fermenting vegetation, new leather, sweet red fruits and some savoury notes.
Luscious fruit and great balance, just about approachable now but this is infanticide. A great wine, albeit rather oaky still.
