Florals accented. Very clean and clear excellently made wine. Crisp sweetness of tropical fruits with lively and exciting acidity. Very good nice comfortable german riesling. Classic.

Mushrooms, caramel candy made this really an odd ball among the rest. Very fresh, tasting of sweet preserved plums and fresh tropcial fruits. Dark and deeper flavoured ripe yellow fruits.

Flight 2 - The Burgs (4 notes)

Red
2003 Guillemard-Pothier Beaune 1er Cru Les Cras France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Beaune 1er Cru
78 points
A bit hard with earthy twigs , brambles . Just harsh now. Green raspberries, quite rustic with bitter finish.
Red
2006 J.M. Boillot Beaune 1er Cru Epenottes France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Beaune 1er Cru
84 points
Spiced sandalwood with pure bright cherries. Very burgundian earthiness supporting pretty little forest berries. Really delicious.
Red
1996 La Pousse d'Or Volnay 1er Cru Clos des 60 Ouvrées France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Volnay 1er Cru
91 points
Agreeing with Paul , this wine was back on form or rather the bottle is as close in quality as the first one tried. Beautiful florals accented by lots of barnyardish notes , like a little pony. The earth and truffles and dry leave compost was really pronounced withouth being uncomforting. Still, lovely cherry strawberry fruits with a touch of stewedness showed. Gentle as the fruits were, the structure of this wine reminded of a Nuit rather than a beaune. Lenghty and smooth with a beckoning finish.
Red
1996 Domaine Ghislaine Barthod Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuées France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
83 points
Really tight still with mostly primary fresh slightly polished dark cherry fruits . Hints of flowers but if not this was more NSG / gevrey with its spiciness and dried earth , and slightly meaty character. On the palate, fresh and a touch of extract though somehow fruits seemed kinda diluted. Nearing the end, the wine picked uip pace and was more generous .
