Flight 1 - Appetizers (2 notes)

Four "Make-Your-Own" Crostinis
- Proscuitto, Shaved Cantaloupe and Balsamic Vinegar
- Roasted Carrot, Parsley and Goat Cheese
- Ricotta, Basil and Honey
- Pesto, Arugula, Parmesan and Mozzarella

White
2008 Wild Rock Sauvignon Blanc 'Elevation' New Zealand, South Island, Marlborough
Getting crisp citrus and fresh cut hay. Touch of vanilla, but nowhere near the last time I had this.
Crisp with lemon-lime flavors and a nice touch of alfalfa. Simple and clean on a Saturday evening on the deck.
White
2008 Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc New Zealand, South Island, Marlborough
More alfalfa hay and green grass notes than the Wild Rock. Getting some hints of chalk.
Fuller fruit with a juicy, creamy citrus. Long, pleasant finish. Preferred this to the Wild Rock.

Flight 2 - Salad (1 note)

Spring Greens with Champagne Vinegar & Shallot Vinaigrette

White
2007 Souverain Sauvignon Blanc Alexander Valley USA, California, Sonoma County, Alexander Valley
Lots of vanilla. With some stone and gravel and a touch of lemon jest.
Creamy texture with tropical fruit notes, particularly papaya. Vanilla and get some white pepper on the finish.
Don't like this style of Sauv Blanc.

Flight 3 - Main Course (2 notes)

Grilled Tuna on White Bean Puree with Olive Tapenade
Roasted Tomatoes with Orange Zest Oil
Roasted Fingerling Potatoes

Red
2007 Domaine Galuval Cairanne France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Cairanne
Sweet blueberries and plum jelly on the nose.
Spicy, oaky cherry flavors with lots of oaky black pepper.
An unpleasant wine.
Red
2008 Bodegas Luzon Jumilla Spain, Murcia, Jumilla
Oak chips baby! Some blackberries are trying to peek around the edges, but are having a hard time.
Stewed cherries on the palate and a touch of jam.

Flight 4 - Dessert (2 notes)

Fruit Tart

White - Sparkling
2007 Tenute Cisa Asinari dei Marchesi di Grésy Moscato d'Asti La Serra Italy, Piedmont, Asti, Moscato d'Asti
flawed
Smells off. Too thick. Smells like the syrup from a can of peaches.
Tastes thicker than normal. That same canned peach syrup thing.
There was something not right with this bottle.
Red - Sparkling
N.V. Angelo Delea Fragolino Switzerland, Ticino
Smelled like a Band-aid soaked in the wax of a cheap strawberry scented candle. Very chemical.
Tasted the same as it smelled, but with a nice helping of strawberry soap. Had a very long and lingering, unpleasant finish of Cherry Nyquil.
An absolutely god-awful wine, and one of the most offensive things I've drunk in years.
