cherry, tobacco, leather on the nose, chewy wine but amazingly light and refreshing. lots of red and black fruit. a note of tea-like tannins, i can drnk this all day.

spicy nose - almoust an opposite of the prado. sweetness of the fruit is aparent on the nose but the dustiness and light refreshing body are excellent couterparts. ripe plums and flowers, long finish with a touch of bitterness. many spices intermingling - cloves? nutmeg? YUMM

Flight 3 (1 note)

N.V. El Maestro Sierra Pedro Ximénez PX Viejísimo Spain, Andalucía, Jerez-Xérès-Sherry

second best PX ever for me... i liked it much more than others - although it doesnt seem as thick (probably due to its low alc) it trully impressed me. this wine probably has more sugar than honey - if left of the side of the glass it doesnt run almoust at all...

the nose was full of figs, dates and hay... tons of orange, dry fruits, dates in the mouth... YUMMM went so well with dessert - especiialy with the bitter chocolate...finish is endless...

Flight 4 (1 note)

Red
2001 Domaine les Aphillanthes Côtes du Rhône Villages Plan de Dieu Cuvée des Galets France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Côtes du Rhône Villages Plan de Dieu

meaty, barnyardy nose, bit of alc pokes through. light bodied wine with refreshing acidity, strawberry was the dominant fruit for me, with just a hint of sweetness (a bit more with time). a great qpr!

the Santa Teresa 1796 Ron Antiguo de Solera is just amazing... its like drinking cotton candy (with 40% alc!!!) totally changes one's perpectives on hard stuff..vanilla and coconut notes from the oak mixing with the caramel/flowery notes...YUM!

thanks again for a LOVELY, PERFECT Spring day!
