A little smoke on the nose with diesel. Good acidity, very dry, sharp and perhaps a little austere. Some tangerine notes on the nose came through after some time on the nose. Long.

Truffles on the nose with a touch of earthy sweet vegetables – carrots, squash with again, a touch of oak. Sweetness on the palate but well balanced. Definitely umami in this one and a touch of nutmeg spice.

Almost cheesy on the nose with great minerality and a touch of red apples. Dry, crisp, with the apple following through on the palate. Strong fruit through the middle of the wine and a long finish.

Waxy, perfumed with white flower. Soft on the palate with more apples. Rather thin, a little light for my taste. Not as intense as the 2007.

Smokey bacon with ketchup on the nose (I know a little odd but that’s what I got). Ripe spicy pears with a dry finish – not as much intensity as I had hoped for.

Some oak. Sweet pear, bread and white pepper. 35g/l but tasting drier due to the good acidity. Plenty of sweet fruit but dry finish. Developing some complexity.

Vibrant and zingy on the nose with grapey notes. Same following through on the palate. Big fruit with a dry finish but some lingering sweetness.

Very intense nose of Turkish Delight, minerality and marzipan. Lighter than expected on the palate but good minerality.

Rich. Mineral and grapey nose. Again strong minerality driving through the palate, intense fruit and long.
