Introduction
What a night.. of good wines. In Fact, it was really just supposed to be an eventless night but turned out to be an overkilled night... anyone's birthday?

Cognac nose with dry wok fried nuts. Cucumber, whisky n mineral water. V dry but got sweeter with chilling clams.

Sweet osthmantus flowers. Ripe acidity. Fresh pineapples and very balanced. Expected goodness at world class standards. For a pfalz, this punched above its class. The best pfalz tasted. Will hold long.

Sweet orange peels, mango puree. Good body. Feels viscous n thick n sweet till cloying but when tasted it's teasingly sweet. Homey suckled haven. Caramel toffee shows up.

Lifted flowers slightly soy saucy with zesty citric peel. With time, this revealed more earthiness but shut down again to a tight nutshell of prunish tannins and hard earth. Think this cam keep for another few years

Sweet cucumbers. Cool calm Collected. Excellent! Amazing ! Structured but iron fist in a velvet glove. Great stuff. V like a bord! I tot haut medoc. Some classy leather.

Cockroach legs , brown rice In warehouse. Finishes with Chinese tea leaves. Tight. Still young. Lots of dark licorice. Some cat's pee. Some exotic spiced dry fruits but v tarry. Lots of dark smoky tobacco Leaves.

Wow! Everyone was enjoying this bottle and even more so after it bring revealed. Great example of a fine aged claret in a legendary vintage. Dark monolithic fruits atop classy leather and capsicums. Robust and mouthfillingly good. Amazingly youthful and seems to be drinking like the 96 haut haily. Just for the freshness and joy of being a time machine to a year after my own birhyear, this wine had sentimentality.

Tannins coat the mouth. DArk herbs and licorice. V saturated deep dark plumish. Very youngish and v rich. Excellent undeniably pauillac power n presence that turned out to be a pessac though. But a testament to how well it was drinking.

I like this . Its almost like an inbetween for a really parkerised big fruit bomb and a dessert wine. It strikes somewhere in between which makes it a very interesting wine. Deep rich somewhat portish yet also somewhat like a really sun ripe sunshine dry table red. Good toffee caramel fruits. Just delightful and probably needs to be eaten with thick dark molten lava cake or rich christmas cake or best on its own.
