Unfortunately, I only had the first fleeting glimpse of this wine as the bottle was then whisked away. Funky, earth aromatics. Medium bodied. Funky and earthy on the palate as well. Pretty fun stuff, I like this. But the price point here, $18, while fair, doesn't make it something that I'm going to do much with. 86-88
Red
2008 Château Le Breuil Renaissance France, Bordeaux, Médoc
87 points
Pretty, light and elegant wine, especially for the price point. Great balance, this is staying on the wire. Just a nice everyday Bordeaux. Sometimes it seems like these wines don't exist anymore. 87-88
Red
2005 Château Magneau France, Bordeaux, Graves
90 points
This must have come together based on the other TN. Funky, jumpy, lively aromatics. Has flavors/aromas/and textures of clay, maybe pencil. Soft. This makes me thing of bordeaux. Really like where this is right now, and love the price point. 89-90
Red
2004 Château Villars France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Fronsac
86 points
Time does not seem to have done any favors to this wine. Medium bodied, with a little funk. Has an almost stewy note, just not coming together. Not that it's bad, but this is the most expensive wine of the four, and is probably my least favorite. 86-88
