Introduction

with Jordyn, Trisarahtops, Tammy, Mike, and Chance/Chase

Flight 1 (1 note)

White
2009 Cantina Terlan Terlano Terlaner Classico Italy, Trentino-Alto Adige, Alto Adige, Terlano
89 points
Orchard lemon meets peach, with a buttery aspect to the nose. Palate maintains the lemon-peach theme, chalky mineral apparent on midpalate, honeydew/melon finish.

Flight 2 (1 note)

Red
2007 Domaine Chignard Fleurie Les Moriers France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Fleurie
88 points
Stewed cherries, some game, sulfur/stone, and minty tones to the nose. Smooth palate has leathery acidity, green tannins, red cranberry and pomegranate fruit, creamy texture to late palate, full finish.

Flight 3 (1 note)

Red
2009 Bodegas Borsao Garnacha Campo de Borja Tres Picos Spain, Aragón, Campo de Borja
90 points
Did well with a few hours decanting. Heavy black licorice nose, charcoal smoke, purple fruit, sweet flowers, hints of vanilla. Palate has juicy black plum, wood spice, purple fruit, faint herbal edges to the fruit, with an uncomplicated tannin structure. 90+

Flight 4 (1 note)

Red
2007 Lapostolle Syrah Cuvée Alexandre Las Kuras Vineyard Chile, Rapel Valley, Cachapoal Valley
91 points
No decant. Rich and concentrated, meaty, spicy, with fig and dark currants in an almost a pasty texture to nose and palate. Gets very gamy with more air, with raw red meat combining with black fruit and dark chocolate edges.

Flight 5 (1 note)

Red
2007 Tamarack Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon USA, Washington, Columbia Valley
93 points
Decanted 12 hours. This bottle seemed a bit redder, with cassis dominating the black licorice and blackberry, and similar minty and spice background to the nose. Extra decanting really smooths this out on the palate, which is very ripe with a velvety-concentrated texture, red and black currants, black cherry, full-bodied midpalate and finish carrying the herbal-mint and licorice themes.
