Clean, nice citrus notes, interesting minerality.
More substance on the palate and a longer, lingering finish than expected.
Nice QPR... 'buy' if I drank more white

Interesting.
Full Bodied, yet elegant.
Milky and cloudy like an unfiltered Dehlinger.
Nice ripe pear.
Put off a little by the slightly bitter grape seed/rind finish that Josh said was typical.
Enjoyed this wine and would like to see how it evovles with bottle age (Josh said nice aging potential -- 10-15 years.)
Again if I drank more white, I am sure I could find a place in the cellar for these, but at $38-40 not tempted.

Put off by the nose.
Espresso, wet socks, and a touch of ammonia.
Tight, big, and disjointed.
'what do you want to be when you grow up?'
at $10, you do get alot of size for the buck, but i'd rather fill my cellar slots with other selections.

1997 Tenuta Ponte Taurasi Italy, Campania, Taurasi DOCG

I'm quite fond of Aglianico and Taurasi.
On the nose, Earth, White pepper, wet fur and preserved plums.
Nice, but not enough Italiano Vero to take home to La Famiglia.
Lacks the complexity of the next level of Taurasi
Still a good buy (less than $15) and I wouldn't mind having a few lying around
Red
2003 Martorana Nero d'Avola Sicilia Italy, Sicily, Sicilia

I've really been enjoying Nero D'Avola recently.
This one has Blueberries and roasted almonds on the nose.
Soft and pleasant in the mouth, but nothing special to take it higher.
At $17, I don't think I'll make room for this in the cellar.
Josh said recent PI article picked this as their favorite and TOP Nero D'avola.
Seriously? off the top of my head I can think of 6 I like better.
Red
2000 Giuseppe Lonardi Ripasso della Valpolicella Classico Superiore Italy, Veneto, Valpolicella, Ripasso della Valpolicella Classico Superiore

Porty mix of Chocolate covered cherries and raisins on the nose.
Amarone lite?
Nice balance - acidity, tannins alcohol all seem to be playing together nicely in the bottle.
I'm impressed by the wines I've had from Lonardi and I think this is a buy.

2002 Meroi Friuli Colli Orientali Merlot Ros di Buri Italy, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Friuli Colli Orientali

I tend not to be a big fan of Merlot and was interested in tasting this Italian expression.
Leather and a little tar on the nose.
Tight and live in the mouth with tart cranberries.
A little different than what I'd expect from a merlot, although I dont drink them often.
I enjoyed this, but at the $40 price point, I'll pass
White - Sweet/Dessert
1999 Castello Sonnino Vin Santo del Chianti Italy, Tuscany, Chianti, Vin Santo del Chianti

Honey, Orange, Cinnamon and hints of Chocolate.
