This one was great. It had a nice nose of sweet cherry, cedar, and a touch of earth. The palate was silky smooth, with some nice cherry flavors, plus some cedar box. The tannins were very firm, with a long finish.

The really like this one. The nose had nice pear and apricot aromas, with some floral notes and stone smells underneath. The palate had a nice mixture of tropical fruit and earth. The acidity was just right and the finish good and long.
Red
2001 Masi Brolo di Campofiorin Veronese IGT Italy, Veneto, Veronese IGT

This wine was very nice. The nose was a little tight. All I could make out was some cherry and cedar. The palate was very smooth, with nice cherry flavors and a little bit of cedar box. The tannins were very firm, and the finish lasted a good long time. This might be better after a little aging.
Red
2004 Marchesi de' Frescobaldi Chianti Castiglioni Italy, Tuscany, Chianti

This was one of the those wines with a great nose that did not follow through to the palate. The were aromas of raspberry, and cherry, along with hints of rose petal, vanilla, and cedar. The palate was very smooth, but the cedar tastes overpowered the cherry tastes. The tannins were very sofy, but the finish was not very long at all.
White
2005 Fratelli Pighin Friuli Grave Pinot Grigio Italy, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Friuli Grave

This wine was a little dissapointing. It was rather flat and hollow. The nose was pretty good. It had some nice appricot, peach, and pear aromas, mixed with some floral notes. The palate was not very good. It had a liitle too much wet stone flavors that was not very well balanced with fruit. The acidity was ok, but the finish was very short.
