Flight 1 (1 note)

White
2011 Domaine de la Janasse Viognier Vin de Pays de la Principauté d'Orange Blanc France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Vin de Pays de la Principauté d'Orange
76 points
Beer, hop, bitter, lime tree, nearly watery with loads of alcohol. Needs time to come together, way too young at this stage.

Flight 2 (3 notes)

Red
2006 Domaine la Soumade Rasteau Cuvée Fleur de Confiance France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Rasteau
92 points
Very very nice wine, it needed an hour of air before the nose really came out, but then it really showed nice expression of southern Rhone terroir.

Cherry, exotic herbs, some horse sweat but nice, very dense on the palate and really fills your mouth. Notes of flowers, cherry and minerals in the round and velvety palate.
Red
2006 Cayuse God Only Knows USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley
86 points
Rubber, blood, classic Cayuse funk in the nose, very bitter aftertaste, much stronger than usual, cherries. Lacks a bit of power in the palate.

This is clearly in a very difficult stage and it will need loads of time to recover, but I'm confident that it will. Can't score it higher than 86 at this moment in time though
Red
2010 Domaine de la Janasse Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Chaupin France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
95 points
AWESOME!!!

Cherries, sweet marmelade, really nice herbs/fruit mix, typical CdP and while young it is oh soooo gooood!

This is really one of the best QPR wines that I know, seriously amazing value!

Flight 3 (1 note)

White - Sweet/Dessert
2003 Benoit Dorsaz Petite Arvine Grain de Folie Arvine Fletrie Switzerland, Valais, Chamoson
91 points
Consistent with previous notes and grades. Vanilla, honey, popcorn, butter, apricots, almonds in the nose. Overflowing with different taste.

The almonds let you think it's Sauternes, but then the apricot hints that it isn't . And it isn't :-)

But still, this is more expensive than some high class Sauternes, like Rieussec 1997, you can still get it cheaper than this one.

Still, it is a great wine, round and full with a long aftertaste, very rare though and hard to get.
