Flight 1 (8 notes)

White
2011 Woodlands Chardonnay Chloe Australia, Western Australia, South West Australia, Margaret River
95 points
An austere mineral nose of wet stone with delicate buttery oak and limes and lemons. The palette has bold and racy acid with a big strong citrus and stone fruit to match and a silly mouthfeel. This will cellar well.
White
2011 Woodlands Chardonnay Australia, Western Australia, South West Australia, Margaret River
89 points
A nose of florals, clover and pollen with very rich pears and a palette of ripe stone fruit with a solid finish.
Red
2011 Woodlands Cabernet Franc Merlot Australia, Western Australia, South West Australia, Margaret River
93 points
A very pretty nose of red cherry and exquisite florals and a palette of chocolate, with bold acidity and delicate tannins.
Red
2010 Woodlands Wilyabrup Valley Cabernet Merlot Australia, Western Australia, South West Australia, Margaret River
92 points
A leafy and bold tobacco nose with a high acidity on the palette with some matching fruit and low tannins.
Red
2010 Woodlands Margaret Australia, Western Australia, South West Australia, Margaret River
93 points
A great, minty perfume with eucalyptus and white pepper. The palette has a much better structure than the regular Cabernet-Merlot with the acidity in check and chocolate and tannins working with the delicate acidic finish.

Red
2006 Woodlands Cabernet Sauvignon Robert Reserve Australia, Western Australia, South West Australia, Margaret River
91 points
Green stalk and oak perfume with earthy plums and tobacco leaf. The palette is softer and more delicate than previous vintages, but the mouthfeel is still big, although the tannins were stretched and could have used some backup.
Red
2009 Woodlands Cabernet Sauvignon Alma May Margaret River Australia, Western Australia, South West Australia, Margaret River
94 points
A dark chocolate, violets and plum nose with mint and eucalyptus coming through after a moment in the glass. The acidity is big yet the delicate tannins still come through and there is a nice burst of cherry fruit.
Red
2011 Woodlands Pinot Noir Réserve de la Cave Australia, Western Australia, South West Australia, Margaret River
95 points
A very well made, unfiltered Pinot with a fabulous, savoury palette of crushed rocks and florals. There is acidity to burn in the palette which matches the lively confectionary and savoury note. Really good Burgundian funk and very well structured.
