Introduction

A great tasting with fun, lively people. Great conversation and great wines, doesn't get much better.

Flight 1 - Chardonnay (3 notes)

White
2010 Domaine Serene Coeur Blanc USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Dundee Hills
90 points
Lovely nose of berries and minerality, very Pinot like on the nose.
Great oak treatment on this wine. Palate echoes the nose. One could be fooled into thinking this was a Provence rose.

SS 90pts.
White
2010 Domaine Serene Chardonnay Evenstad Reserve USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Dundee Hills
91 points
Great subtle nose of butter, pears, lemon/orange zest.
Buttered lemon, floral, white flowers, minerals and white gummy bears on the palate. Great oak treatment. Oily/silky textured palate. Medium plus finish.

SS 91pts.
White
2009 Domaine Serene Chardonnay Recolte Grand Cru USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Dundee Hills
92 points
Upper end chard
More oak on the nose than the Evanstad Reserve chard along with notes of butter, nuttyness.
More buttered as the wine warms up on the palate with other notes of lemon/orange zest, hazelnut and a nice peachy floral component. Oily textures, round long finish. Would mistake this for a white Burg all day long. I could see this getting better with another couple years in bottle.

SS 92+pts.

Flight 2 - Pinot (3 notes)

Red
2009 Domaine Serene Pinot Noir Yamhill Cuvée USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley
91 points
Lovely nose of cherries, minerality, earthy component, rose petals.
Great cherry and spice on the palate along with subtle floral notes.
Great length, medium plus finish. Very elegant and feminine in style.

SS 91pts.
Red
2008 Domaine Serene Pinot Noir Evenstad Reserve USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley
92 points
Darker in color than the Yamhill.
Nice spicy/cinnamon notes, with earth and cherries. Very clean fruit.
Strawberries, cherries on the palate. Velvety tannins, bright acidity
Slight heat on the palate towards the finish. Otherwise this is a great bottle of Pinot.

SS 92+pts.
Red
2009 Domaine Serene Pinot Noir Winery Hill Vineyard USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Dundee Hills
93 points
Single vineyard bottling.

Big raspberry/strawberry nose, minerality with lovely spice.
Great power and finesse on the palate. Nice spiciness, berries galore. A very masculine wine.
Wine of the tasting for me tonight.

SS 93+pts.
