a rare oxidized Raveneau, slightly oxidized when opened, then got worse and worse quickly.

Spicy and floral aromas, starting with some tropical fruit that was similar to this same wine I briefly tasted late 2012, but with more air and time this transformed into a more classically styled Chablis showcasing lemon, lemon peel and grapefruit. A fairly lush lush start developed into a firm and muscularly styled wine with good balance. Kept getting better and better over the course of 3 hours.

Popped and poured. Like all the Raveneau 2001s tonight, this kept getting better over time. started moderately floral and spicy with apple and pear, this expanded with more time and took on a more intense and dense character. This will still be better 5 years from now.

Popped and poured. Apple aromas with some candied apple and a bit of lemon curd. Lots of intense fruit flavors, showing lemon and lemon peel, along with ripe apple and quince. Very powerful, intense and persistent. Got longer, better and more intense over the 2+ hours open.
