Introduction

We got together to taste some Saint-Emilion & Pomerol wines for Santiago's birthday.

Flight 1 (4 notes)

A bit less developed than the rest of the bottles tonight. Maybe it's still too young. It still does have enough fruit to support further aging. Would love to try this 5 years from now.

A good wine that lacks the extract, concentration and focus of a great one. From the color and nose, I can tell this was well kept. Very mellow, didn't open up even after a couple of hours. Subtle nose of wet ash, cassis and wet forest. Brief finish. Overall a pleasant experience. It just left me yearning for a little more.

This bottle has aged very nicely. Maybe not developed the notes of the earlier Bordeaux we had but the fruit is still alive and singing. Great subtle bouquet, everything in harmony. Not overdone. Really enjoyed it.

WOTN. Amazing concentration and structure on this bottling. We definitely drank it too young but without a doubt this wine has enough substance to age for over 20 years. Lots of chocolate and dark fruits and creme de cassis. Deep, layered and long finish. Absolutely stunning effort.
