Flight 1 - Jefferson Vineyards (8 notes)

White
2011 Jefferson Vineyards Pinot Gris USA, Virginia, Central Virginia, Monticello
PAW. On point of a typical light PG.
White
2011 Jefferson Vineyards Chardonnay USA, Virginia, Central Virginia, Monticello
Good. Some mineral and brightness. Soft in the middle.
White
2011 Jefferson Vineyards Chardonnay Reserve USA, Virginia, Central Virginia, Monticello
Solid. Balanced with a little creaminess and a bite. Good.
White
2011 Jefferson Vineyards Johannisberg Riesling USA, Virginia, Central Virginia, Monticello
PAR - Perfectly Acceptable Riesling.
Red
N.V. Jefferson Vineyards Vin Rouge USA, Virginia, Central Virginia, Monticello
No. Based on 2011 and raw green Cab Franc from that vintage.
Red
N.V. Jefferson Vineyards Cabernet Franc USA, Virginia, Central Virginia, Monticello
Stemmy and light - also of '11 vintage with a little extra '10 added. Still too light and too raw.
Red
N.V. Jefferson Vineyards Petit Verdot USA, Virginia, Central Virginia, Monticello
OK - 2011 vintage w/ some '10. Nice color and some good character, but oak not carried well and really not a complete wine.
White
N.V. Jefferson Vineyards Vin Blanc USA, Virginia, Central Virginia, Monticello
Vidal + Petit Manseng with the former dominating and the latter not giving the acidic spine needed. OK.

Flight 2 - Blenheim Farm (5 notes)

White
N.V. Blenheim Vineyards White Table Wine USA, Virginia
Floral nose and cantaloupe taste. Good persistence. Short on acids to balance, but really enjoyable and distinctive. Very good.
White
2012 Blenheim Vineyards Chardonnay USA, Virginia
Nice balance, good finish. A bit soft in the middle. Good job of type.
White
2012 Blenheim Vineyards Viognier USA, Virginia, Central Virginia, Monticello
Nice freshness and floral. Good body. A bit short on finish. Good.
Red
N.V. Blenheim Vineyards Red Table Wine USA, Virginia, Central Virginia
No. Too light and raw from the '11 vintage and oak treatment too heavy.
Red
2011 Blenheim Vineyards Painted Red USA, Virginia, Central Virginia, Albemarle County
Bright acids, but a yammy core and still of the '11 vintage in lightness and raw nature. Acceptable but a good job with the starting material.

Flight 3 - Veritas Vineyards (9 notes)

White
2012 Veritas Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc USA, Virginia, Central Virginia, Monticello
Very grassy and of type. Acids not really in balance though. OK.
White
2012 Veritas Vineyard Chardonnay Saddleback USA, Virginia, Central Virginia, Monticello
Leaner style. Good fruit and a nice acidic spine. Enjoyed this variation of the usual Viognier. Very good.
White
2012 Veritas Vineyard Viognier USA, Virginia, Central Virginia, Monticello
Solid. Good apple core with bright acidity and some mineral sides. Clean finish. Good.
White
N.V. Veritas Vineyard White Star USA, Virginia, Central Virginia, Monticello
PAW.
Rosé
2012 Veritas Vineyard Rosé USA, Virginia, Central Virginia, Monticello
Decent enough rose.
Red
N.V. Veritas Vineyard Red Star USA, Virginia, Central Virginia, Monticello
No. Marred with a sweetness in the middle. <PAR.

Red
2011 Veritas Vineyard Claret USA, Virginia, Central Virginia, Monticello
Too much of the '11 flaws of raw, light and vegetal. No.
White - Sweet/Dessert
2011 Veritas Vineyard Kenmar Dessert Wine USA, Virginia, Central Virginia, Monticello
Yep. This is Traminette elevated (via manipulation.) Incredible floral nose and pure rose + jasmine water cordial on the palate. Nice body and a lovely tapering off finish. Very, very good.
Red - Fortified
2010 Veritas Vineyard Othello USA, Virginia, Central Virginia, Monticello
Very nice port-style wine with some velvety tannins and a nice sweet/acid balance. Good.
