Oloroso sherry on the nose, continuing on the palate and though Pedro Ximenes-influenced finish (I believe it was finished in PX barrels for about a year). Better than Glenmorangie Lasanta; as opposed to the Lasanta which was aged in Bourbon barrels and finished in Oloroso Sherry barrels, this was fully aged in Oloroso Sherry barrels, then finished in PX sherry barrels. To quote K&L's David Driscoll, it's "the best whisky that no one is drinking". 40% ABV. 88-89

Like the 12-year-old, but with more wood and more of a dry finish (and none of that PX sweetness kiss). 88-89

Flight 3 (1 note)

Spirits
1993 Glendronach 19 Year Old Single Cask #490 (K&L) Oloroso Sherry Butt Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 54.7% United Kingdom, Scotland, Highlands

Amazingly smooth for 54.7% ABV, with toasty oak on the nose and charred oak on the palate, and toffee on the finish. The nose opens up with water, revealing notes of vintage Armagnac and coffee liquor; a little more heat this time on the palate (finally!), wood extract, and spice. Loooong finish of coffee liquor. 91+
