Flight 1 (3 notes)

White
2013 Torres Catalunya Viña Esmeralda Spain, Catalunya
87 points
Light to medium yellow-green with grey hues. Expressive nose with grapey, floral and tropical fruit aromas. Medium-bodied, obviously sweet (off-dry) with nice acidity and a medium aftertaste. Easy drinking and pleasent summer quaffer.
White
2012 Pazos de Lusco Albariño Rías Baixas Lusco Spain, Galicia, Rías Baixas
92 points
Medium to dark straw with golden hues. Expressive nose with steely minerality, citrus and stone fruits, acacia flowers, quince and green pepper. Medium-bodied, crispy and bone-dry with high acidity and a long, spicy aftertaste. Excellent wine to pair with sea-food.
White
2013 Bodega José Pariente Verdejo Rueda Spain, Castilla y León, Rueda
90 points
Medium yellow-green. Explosive nose with tropical fruits like papaya, guava, mango, pear and green scents. Medium-bodied with rich fruit and balancing acidity. Good length. A wine to pair mostly with Asian cuisine.

Flight 2 (3 notes)

Red
2005 Marqués de Cáceres Rioja Gran Reserva Spain, La Rioja, La Rioja Alta, Rioja
91 points
Medium to dark ruby. Initially lactic nose, uses some aeration to reveal blackberries, vanilla, spice and floral scents. Medium-bodied, round and balanced with silky tannins, good freshness, medium acidity and a long aftertaste. Very enjoyable and food-friendly but could age further.
Red
2009 Bodegas y Viñedos Ébano Ribera del Duero 6 Spain, Castilla y León, Ribera del Duero
92 points
Dark ruby-garnet. Expressive nose of high intensity aromas of plums, blackberries, animal scents and spices. Full-bodied with rich fruit, fine-grained tannins and adequate acidity. Long, spicy and somewhat bitter aftertaste. Very attractive wine and a bargain at €6 ex-cellar.
Red
2013 Telmo Rodríguez Toro Dehesa Gago Spain, Castilla y León, Toro
88 points
Dark purple. Extremely youthful nose with red cherry, strawberry, black pepper and floral aromas. In a sence it is like the wine (or a part of it) has undergone carbonic maceration. Medium-to full-bodied, very youthful and fresh, firm and somewhat drying tannins and a medium+, peppery aftertaste. Will imrove after a couple of years in the cellar.

Flight 3 (4 notes)

Red
2009 Pago Los Balancines Ribera del Guadiana Los Balancines Matanegra Spain, Extremadura, Ribera del Guadiana
90 points
This seemed to me as overevolved at first, but after sometime in the glass it was rejuvenated in a sence, revealing aromas of dark chocolate, coffee bean, dark cherries, flowers and sweet spices. Full-bodied with velvety tannins, balancing acidity and a long aftertaste. Drink sooner than later.
Red
2012 Bodega Dehesa de Luna Tempranillo Vino de la Tierra de Castilla Spain, Castilla-La Mancha, Vino de la Tierra de Castilla
87 points
Very dark purple. Dark cherry and spice on the nose. Medium-bodied, balanced, pleasent but quite simple with a medium aftertaste.
Red
2010 Bodegas Hispano-Suizas Quod Superius Spain, Valencia, Utiel-Requena
93 points
Sweet and complex nose of leather, coffee, chocolate, luxurious oak, coconut, liquorice and blackberry jam. Continuously evolving as it sits in the glass, where after a while menthol notes are reveiled adding in complexity. Full-bodied, sweet, with velvety tannins and big, somewhat jammy fruit counterbalanced by fine acidity. Very long aftertaste. A top class red that needs at least 2 to 5 years to integrate the oak and might merrit an even higher score in the future.
White - Sparkling
N.V. Parxet Cava Cuvée 21 Spain, Cava
88 points
Light straw with slow bubbling and small bubbles. Citrus fruit, pear and yeast on the nose. Light to medium bodied, refreshing, pleasent and elegant with a medium aftertaste. Excellent qpr.
