Introduction

White Burgundies can be a dream or a nightmare...

Flight 1 (2 notes)

White
2008 Tissot (Bénédicte et Stéphane / André et Mireille) Arbois Selection France, Jura, Arbois
78 points
One of two prirates this evening: OMG what a wine... Yes, I do not understand it, so please judge my Rating accordingly. Quite cloudy and dull (unfiltered) appearance. Bottle was not flawed one could notice with every sip, that this wine was intentionally made. Sherry notes in the nose, Brown apple. Very high and unintegrated acidity (It was simply sour) and some tanins (in a White wine!!!). I could not drink more than a sip. If this is natural wine, I don't Need it...
White
2005 Guilhem et Jean-Hugues Goisot Bourgogne-Aligoté France, Burgundy, Bourgogne-Aligoté

White
2000 Domaine Ramonet Bâtard-Montrachet France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru
91 points
Glass: Riedel Vinum Syrah
Popped and poured
Clear, medium golden color. Clean, fully developed medium intense nose with notes of candle wax and some medicinal notes which I do not like.
Dry, high acidity which is not well integrated, full bodied, medium intense. Elegant and more lightweight than the others. Maybe not an optimal bottle?
Good Burgundy at its peak where it will stay for the next 5-10+ years.
