Introduction
My first visit to this fabled restaurant at the gateway to the Rhone. Great food and the wines were quite a treat.

Intense dried apricot with great fruit intensity and sweet spice aromas. Same flavor profile but coming across with good acidity and more restraint. Layers of flavors, lots of power. Very good now, I'd expect this will hold strong to close to 2020.

Ripe and nicely maturing orchard fruit aromas and flavors with great spice, some hints of roasted hazelnut and faint background sweetness. Everything is maturing, but completely age appropriate. Well stored bottles of Lafon 1989s are sensational.

Superb spice is completely enchanting with lots of dense red cherry and berry that is incredibly bright, with faints hints of evolution. Very energetic through long finish.

What a pleasant surprise. Tobacco leaf, forest floor and well reduced mushroom character. Black fruit made a nice cameo appearance once open 10 minutes, this peaked at 15-20 minutes, started a clear decline shortly thereafter.
