Flight 1 (5 notes)

Red - Sparkling
2014 Braida (Giacomo Bologna) Barbera del Monferrato Frizzante La Monella Italy, Piedmont, Monferrato, Barbera del Monferrato
Fizzy mouthfeel; pine resiny, fresh, fragrant gattinara-like nose. Minty, refreshing wine.
Red
2014 Braida (Giacomo Bologna) Grignolino d'Asti Italy, Piedmont, Asti, Grignolino d'Asti
Limonte Gringolino, single vineyard wine (?). Lighter, tea color. Slightly sour and tannic wine -- result of pressed seeds. Tea aromatics.
Red
2013 Braida (Giacomo Bologna) Barbera d'Asti Montebruna Italy, Piedmont, Asti, Barbera d'Asti
A single vineyard wine. Dark cherry, framed by a non-obtrusive touch of Slovonian oak. Mineral, 'burgundian' feel, balanced. Primary, slightly sour fruit is complimented by a sweeter, smoky hint of a roasted chestnut. Good wine that should well compliment most meat and pasta dishes.
Red
2013 Braida (Giacomo Bologna) Barbera d'Asti Bricco dell'Uccellone Italy, Piedmont, Asti, Barbera d'Asti
A delicious and sophisticated wine. Beautiful fragrant aromatics of dark amarena cherry, hazelnuts, wood. Complex, vibrant and fresh. Develops the taste of prunes, mushrooms, cherry liquor. Impeccable balance and minerality; a classy wine, not simply a good Barbera.
