Did its duty on the pre-meal bubbles front. Resplendent colour too and properly chilled though not much more than a ciderish edge on the tongue.

Still at a tenner, a qualifier on the value front.

Devoured in haste to descend on the decanted 85'Palmer but was struck by the struck match smell - much more to the fore than in earlier bottles.

Still satisfying smooth lemon butter in the mouth and creamy sign-off to complement my crudely cut melon chunks wrapped in Parma ham.

Companions commented it was a cut above "the usual Chardonnay" which from British throats is almost acclaim.
