White
2012 Cantina Mesa Vermentino di Sardegna Giunco Italy, Sardinia, Vermentino di Sardegna
89 points
Floral, fresh, mineral, lovely Vermentino typicity, elegant, light and with considerable finesse, so airy and relaxed you would believe it had had a kiss of oak (which it has not), good length.
Rosé
2013 Château Miraval Côtes de Provence Rosé France, Provence, Côtes de Provence
88 points
Still a lovely rosé, but has lost some of the vibrance and definition of its youth.
Red
2013 Kayra Öküzgözü Versus Alpagut Turkey, Eastern Anatolia, Elazig
91 points
Inaugural vintage, granite and limestone / clay soils, aged for 19 months in oak (20% new, of which 16% French and 4% American, both medium toast), 14.5% ABV. A lovely wine, ripe red fruit, energetic and fresh, hints of white pepper and spice, like a southern but elegant Blaufränkisch with silky tannins and judicious oak - if that makes any sense? Jolly good stuff anyway.
