Red
2000 Château de Chambrun France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Lalande de Pomerol
89 points
Deep ruby with minimal bricking, less than expected for age; moderately aromatic with some sandalwood, tobacco, figs prominent on the nose; palate is full bodied, fully integrated medium tannin, medium acid, balanced medium alcohol, smooth texture throughout, red fruit; medium finish. This is ready to drink and mature, but it has at least 1-2 years left. Overall a very nice bordeaux for the release price. 89
Red
2000 Château Beau-Séjour Bécot France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru
91 points
Deep ruby with minimal bricking; nose is aromatic, complex and well integrated, plenty of blackberry and black fruit, green forest floor, slight capsicum; palate is full bodied, youthful tannins that are approachable, medium alcohol, medium acid, black fruit that persists through the midpalate; medium length finish. This is a classically made right bank bordeaux with some age and great complexity on the nose and the palate. Very early maturity now with probably 8-10 years ahead of it with some development. 91+

Red
1995 Seavey Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon USA, California, Napa Valley
90 points
Medium-deep ruby with age-appropriate bricking; nose is moderately aromatic, slightly green/herbal; palate is full bodied, dense black fruit, tannins well integrated, just slightly drying; medium-long finish. This is good, but compared to my last bottles this seems off. Not a particular flaw (possibly very tiny amount of TCA, but this still has great fruit on the palate), but just not as good. Will compare to another bottle. 90-91
Red
1995 Seavey Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon USA, California, Napa Valley
93 points
Medium ruby color with age-appropriate bricking; nose is moderately aromatic with figs, black fruit, with swirling excellent blackcurrant fruit; palate is full bodied, rich blackberry and blackcurrant fruit, full tannins that are generally integrated though still present throughout; finish is medium length. My last bottle must have been slightly off, since this is as I remember all my other bottles: Californian in style with exceptional fruit but balanced and integrated, drinking well now and for another decade. 93
Red
2005 Turley Zinfandel Pesenti Vineyard USA, California, Central Coast, Paso Robles
91 points
Medium clear ruby with minimal bricking; nose is highly aromatic, high toned red fruit including cranberry, pomegranate, some heat; palate is medium bodied, medium acid, high alcohol (16.1%), plenty of remaining red fruit; medium finish. This is unique (definitely not your standard Zinfandel) but holds its alcohol well and has plenty of good fruit. Very nice Turley! 91
White - Sweet/Dessert
1986 Château Doisy-Védrines France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes
91 points
Light golden-orange color; highly aromatic nose with dried orange, citrus rind, minerality, baking spice; palate is medium bodied, medium balanced sweetness, some minerality, orange fruit, moderate complexity; medium length finish. Very nice moderate maturity sauternes with nose>>palate, excellent value for the price. 90-91
