Oxidized.
White
2005 Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon Mâcon-Milly-Lamartine Clos du Four France, Burgundy, Mâconnais, Mâcon-Milly-Lamartine
Fresh nose of citrus with hints of lees and nicely integrated wood. Decent acidity with maturing citrus flavours. Excellent.

Flight 2 (2 notes)

White
2005 Domaine Daniel Dampt et Fils Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru
Advanced.
White
2005 Domaine Daniel Dampt et Fils Chablis 1er Cru Côte de Léchet France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru
This was much fresher than the 05 Vaillons served alongside it. More citrus and freshness with surprisingly good acidity considering the vintage. Quite good.

Flight 3 (2 notes)

Red
2001 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Roncières France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru
90 points
Aromatic nose showing nice development. Quite resolved on the palate with pinot fruit flavours and solid acidity and length. Drinking well now but no rush. Excellent.
Red
2001 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Chaignots France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru
This was quite peppery in comparison to the 01 Roncieres with an overall darker fruit profile as well. This could use more time. Excellent.

Flight 4 (2 notes)

Red
2001 Frederic Esmonin Clos Vougeot France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
Quite youthful and very red fruited on both the nose and palate. Not as well balanced as the two Chevillon's or the 01 Mazy. Cranberry and tart on the palate with lively acidity. Profile here reminds me of an 08. This was difficult to judge but I think it needs 5-7+ years.
Red
2001 Frederic Esmonin Mazy-Chambertin France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru
I preferred this to the 01 CdV. This was better balanced with crunchy red fruits and a softer mouthfeel. Drinking well now but no rush. Excellent.
