Flight 1 (4 notes)

White - Sparkling
N.V. Domaine Belluard Vin de Savoie Ayse Les Perles du Mont Blanc France, Savoie, Vin de Savoie Ayse
86 points
Nose hints ar Vouvray - intense and waxy, enticing and more interesting than the palate. With time develop notes of pharmacy and bandaid. Palate of unripe fruits, reminiscent of cidre - somewhat tart and bare. Nice enough, but this is not something to rave about.
White
2013 Domaine des Ardoisières Altesse Vin des Allobroges Schiste France, Savoie, Vin des Allobroges
89 points
As well as Argile, this had a stony restrained character. Even more closed in the beginning. Light, elegant body, low alcohol. One can feel some oak on the palate due to tartness. Seems, that this has lower accidity than Argile. Green pear.
Take note that it really developped in the glass gaining intensity and waxy notes. Decenting can do it good.
White
2013 Domaine des Ardoisières Argile Blanc France, Savoie, Vin des Allobroges
89 points
A very unusual nose. Grabs your attention and doesn't let it go.
Very high aaccidity - juicy and saliva inducing. Herbal a bit, but also with a salty side. Lime, tart quince and grapefruit on the nose and palate. Relatively ascetic, doesn't jump in your face - low alcohol and restrained mountain character shows.
White
2004 Domaine Dupasquier Altesse Roussette de Savoie Marestel France, Savoie, Roussette de Savoie
90 points
Like a fat, mature Pinot Gris from Alsace. Immense intensity, overripe fruits and stonefruits. Round, oily, rich, low accidity, pineapple. A good winter wine. Alcohol on the higher side - you can feel it in the nose. Massive.
