A tasting of 4 wines from the 2011 vintage. My and group ranking was: Geyserville, East Bench, Ponzo, Lytton Springs.

Red
2011 Ridge Zinfandel Ponzo Vineyard USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley
Violet, spice, and purple fruits. Dense body, with pure red cherry fruit. Soft tannins and low/medium acid.
Red
2011 Ridge Zinfandel East Bench USA, California, Sonoma County, Dry Creek Valley
Starts with sweet fruit and spice. Lush and lovely, with dark purple and black fruit. Finishes softly and well balanced.
Red

flawed
Menthol, eucalyptus and green pepper on the nose. Mint, earth, and funk. A touch effervescent? Acidic and bitter. This was definitely off.

Red
2008 Ridge Lytton Springs USA, California, Sonoma County, Dry Creek Valley
Juicy, sweet black fruit balanced out with a bit of spice. Soft, fine tannins on the finish. Lovely and enjoyable.
Red
2003 Ridge Lytton Springs USA, California, Sonoma County, Dry Creek Valley
Savory and spicy. This is getting into secondary flavors, with the fruit moving to the background. Finishes with persistent fine tannin and good acid. In a nice place.
Red
2000 Ridge Lytton Springs USA, California, Sonoma County, Dry Creek Valley
Sweet and overly raisin-y. A bit jammy, but holding up well for its age and the best of the vertical.
