Introduction

Generally lesser expensive bottlings, many of which were IGTs.

Flight 1 (10 notes)

White
2015 Az. Agr. Guerra Albano Friuli Colli Orientali Friulano Italy, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Friuli Colli Orientali
N: Pears, apples

P: LM body; Almost swtish frt on front with nicely balancing acidity; Lingering, very slightly tart finish; Nicely made in a lighter style, though I can think of SO many MORE "dry whites" I'd RATHER have for $19.99. :( 13% ABV
Red
2014 Poderi Luigi Einaudi Dogliani Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Dogliani
N: Cherries & earth with notes of mint?

P: LM, poss L, body; Nice frt on front with v. slight astringency mid palate; Lingering, VERY slightly astringent finish. Interesting in an almost white wine style. 13% ABV [This vendor's $12.99 is VERY competitive.]
Red
2015 Monte Tondo Corvina Veneto IGT Italy, Veneto, Veneto IGT
N: Fragrant floral, poss cherries

P: LM body; Bright, almost swtish frt met by a very slightly astringent acidity which extends even less strongly through the long finish. Nicely done, & should continue to drink well into '19. 12.5% ABV [This vendor's $10.99 would appear to be VERY competitive.]
Red
2015 Vignaioli del Morellino di Scansano Maremma Toscana Capoccia Italy, Tuscany, Maremma, Maremma Toscana
N: CLOSED, but notes of earth?

P: LM, poss Med, body; Lingering, spicy finish; Seems to lack intensity, but maybe just needs time? 13% ABV
Red
2014 Bocelli Rosso Toscana IGT Italy, Tuscany, Toscana IGT
N: Fairly fragrant: spicy cherries with earthy undertones?

P: Med, poss LM, body; Nice frt on front with balancing acidity; Long, VERY slightly astringent finish; Drink now or over the next several. Nicely made! 13% ABV
Red
2015 Azienda Agricola Perazzeta Mercurio Rosso Toscana IGT Italy, Tuscany, Toscana IGT
N: Somewhat muted; Pyrazines, cherries, with floral aspects

P: LM body; Initial frt quickly goes acidic; Long, acidic, VERY slightly astringent finish; A lean style, & it seems dicey it will improve. 50% Sangiovese, 30% Cabernet Franc, & 20% Alicante. 13.5% ABV
Red
2015 Marchetti Rosso Conero Due Amici Italy, Marche, Rosso Conero
N: Muted; notes of cherries & earth? Intensity lurking?

P: Med body; Nice frt on front with a long, slightly firm finish. May improve over the next 6 mos or so, then drink nicely through '19. Nice QPR @ this vendor's $11.99? 14% ABV
Red
2015 Cantina Altarocca Orvietano Rosso Librato Italy, Umbria/Lazio, Orvieto, Orvietano Rosso
N: Muted; cherries/earth; Intensity lurking?

P: Med body; Astringency comes in towards mid palate, only slightly mitigating by the long, spicy finish; Needs a yr or so, but does it have the fruit for that? 14% ABV [A blend of Cabernet Franc & Canaiolo, ~ 70:30]
Red
2010 Podere Ciona Merlot Toscana IGT Italy, Tuscany, Toscana IGT
N: Smoke atop berries & earth; Some complexities?

P: Med body; Nice frt, seamlessly morphs into a LONG, almost swtish finish with lightly firming structure. LOVELY, & peaking, I'd expect. 13.5% ABV
Red - Sparkling
N.V. Tenuta La Pergola Birbét Italy, Piedmont, Brachetto d'Acqui DOCG
N: Berries, the rest being VERY difficult to describe

P: Med body; Swt, but balanced by acidity; Notable spritz, both on P & in bottle; Slight flavors of raisins. Only 7% ABV!

Closing

At least these were generally palate friendly, having tasted numerous structured wines just prior. Personally, I found the "Super Tuscan" Merlot & the Brachetto to be the MOST interesting.
