White
2013 Bodegas Rafael Palacios Valdeorras Bolo
Brilliant gold in color
N: Slightly closed/muted; seems crisp, Sauvignon B. like (tropical frts slightly atop grass}
P: Med body; Rnd mouthful with nice frt offset my JUST a touch of bitterness, which persists through the long, very slightly caramelly finish. A mature wine which should provide enjoyable drinking over the next 6-9 mos, at least if you can obtain it @ this vendor's [closeout?] $9.95. 89 pts Tanzer

White
2015 Höpler Grüner Veltliner
N: Initially almost stale/musty aromas transition to notes of cat pee, with minerality finally emerging
P: Med, poss MF, body; Rndish entry with nice frt braced by acidity. VERY nicely balanced & seamless through the long, crisp finish. NICELY done, though the initial aromas DO trouble me. Drink into '19, I'm guessing. 13% ABV 89 pts WE & a "Best Buy" @ $11, though this vendor's $12.95 DOES seem QUITE competitive.

Red
2014 Domaine Lafage Narassa
70% Grenache & 30% Syrah
N: VERY slightly closed/muted; Fragrant berries/flowers reminiscent of a Beaujolais; Jammy notes with air/warmth
P: LM body; Almost swtish frt with mid palate structure & a BIT of bitterness, this quite resolving through the long finish which terminates with notes of swt tobacco & a BIT of spice. Could improve with 6-9 mos of cellaring, then drink BEAUTIFULLY through '19 min. 93 pts WA & 91 from Good Cheap Vino (@ $15.99, which is substantially more than this vendor's HIGHLY competitive $12.95).

Red
2014 Crios de Susana Balbo Malbec
N: Moderately funky aromas initially morph into pyrazines slightly atop berries with toasty undertones
P: Med body; Nice frt with just enough structure to balance. LONG, very pleasant finish. A STYLISH wine for drinking now & through '18, poss longer. 89 pts WA, 88 ea Vinous & Suckling [This vendor's $9.95 is VERY competitive!]

Red
2013 Barossa Valley Estate Shiraz
N: Slightly closed/muted; notes of animal blood (?) atop mushrooms, berries underneath
P: LM, poss Med, body; Nice frt which is almost swtish going a tad puckery late mid palate, this almost totally resolving by the LONG, VERY slightly tart finish. Just starting to hit its stride, I'd give this elegantly styled wine 12-18 mos, then drink through '20 min. Would seem an EXCEPTIONAL value! 90 pts ea WS & WE; Gold @ '16 Cincinnati Intl. Wine Comp, Bronzes @ the '15 Intl. Wine Challenge & Intl. Wine & Spirits Challenge. [This vendor's $11.95 is quite competitive!]
