LA Rookies Old v New World Pinot Dinner
South Pasadena
Tasted April 29, 2017 by G.A. Parker with 228 views
Introduction
Tasted blind.
Flight 1 (8 notes)
Red
2012 Domaine Laurent Mouton Givry
Short decant. Dark fruit, pepper, light but not thin, lots of nice acidity and a little hot. Very one noted, not bad but fairly unremarkable.
Red
2014 Sojourn Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast
Purplish in the glass, alcohol on the nose, ripe red fruit, I was getting a weird sawdust note, noticeable drying tannins on cheeks, stood up nicely to caramelized onions and anchovies.

2014 Patricia Green Cellars Pinot Noir Freedom Hill Vineyard
Cranberries, cherry, funky, balanced, acidity, really nice.
Red
2015 Folk Machine Pinot Noir The Small Hours Vecino Vineyard
92 points
Popped the cork about 5 hours before tasting. Aromatic, red fruit, earthiness, spicy but subtle, complex. Really wowed me. Tasted blind and guessed old world. WOTN for me and for Ned.
