White
2016 Vignamato Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Versiano Classico Superiore Italy, Marche, Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi
86 points
Ripe, full, and round but restrained and a bit impersonal aromatically. Good balance and finish although there was a touch of heat in the aftertaste so my score is mixed and I not sure I should check liked or neutral, it is more realistic to say I found not interesting.
White
2016 Domaine Trotereau Quincy Vieilles Vignes France, Loire Valley, Upper Loire, Quincy
81 points
Modest non distinct nose, definitely ripe which follows through to the weight in the mouth but there it falls apart. Heat and low acidity followed by hint of waxy bitter tannins in the finish. Not awful but not for me.
White
2016 La Soeur Cadette Mâcon-Villages France, Burgundy, Mâconnais, Mâcon-Villages
89 points
First bottle was mildly corked which displayed itself as restrained aromatics. Second bottle was quite nice and all the citrus character you would want, with very nice acid balance and ample weight. Lovely
White
2015 Albert Boxler Edelzwicker Reserve France, Alsace
86 points
This not a wine style I buy very often anymore because I don't find myself pulling a bottle out as my first choice, but it is a good wine. Lovely spicy nose, good ripeness, decent balance maybe some night in Alsace I will order it.

2016 Fattoria Moretto Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro Secco Italy, Emilia-Romagna, Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro
86 points
Buttery nose with a hint of berry, nice full mouth, lots of bubbles, powdery tannin finish. Have purchased in the past but hard to get the right group together than would enjoy it.
Red
2016 Tenuta La Pergola Monferrato Il Goccetto Selected by Kermit Lynch Italy, Piedmont, Monferrato
82 points
Light color, nose is orange peel and floral, moderate body, ok acid balance but the finish is bitter, bitter, bitter.

2014 Domaine Montanet-Thoden Bourgogne Cuvée Garance France, Burgundy, Bourgogne
89 points
Really liked this wine. Light color but the nose is varietal and distinct with a meaty note, and ripe fruit. Solid balance and relative unadorned by oak this is a solid wine. Did not buy because of price but invite me over if you buy.
Red
2015 Domaine Gachot-Monot Côte de Nuits Villages France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Côte de Nuits Villages
86 points
Dark color, very extracted. Meaty and rustic, this is a wine of all low notes, extract, and no high notes. It tastes incomplete, not bad just okay. I had another Bourgogne Rouge from Montanet that was all aromatically high notes and did a 50:50 blend to make a really great wine.
Red
2015 Guido Porro Langhe Nebbiolo Camilu Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Langhe DOC
82 points
The perfume is lovely but in the mouth the powdery tannin, the acid balance and the bitter finish don't work for me.
Red
2014 Hecht & Bannier Languedoc France, Languedoc Roussillon, Languedoc
87 points
Very young and assertive, with tons of color and fruit, needs some age but I think I will be rewarded.
Red
2016 Domaine de Durban Gigondas France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Gigondas
90 points
Lovely butter and berry nose, tons of weight. Awesome Gigondas, very clean flavors, young but all is going in the right direction.

2015 Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe Châteauneuf-du-Pape Télégramme France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
83 points
For some reason I have fallen out of love with Vieux Telegraphe and this course overpriced wine is a perfect example. The nose is raisins with a hint of orange peel but only a hint. In the mouth it is hot and thin and there is no pleasure or joy. Maybe it is just me but I still love CdP's and I find other wines that have joy and balance. I just found that I tasted this months ago with a similar result.
